Oregon cottage food label rules
What has to be on the label when you sell homemade baked goods in Oregon, and the limits that matter at a market. Checked September 2026.
Your label must include
Required statement
“This product is homemade, is not prepared in an inspected food establishment, and must be stored and displayed separately if merchandised by a retailer.”
Statement goes on the principal display panel. Minimum type height 1/16 inch (based on lower-case ‘o’). If pets are present in the home, the label must say so and name the species (e.g., ‘dog’). Retail displays need signage saying the products are homemade and not prepared in an inspected food establishment.

Set up this label once. Print it for every cookie.
BakerBacker builds your Oregon label from each recipe: ingredients in order, allergens and the required statement. Change a recipe and every label updates. It also prices your cookies, takes pre-orders and writes the week’s posts.
This page is general information, not legal advice. Rules change and counties can add their own. Confirm with Oregon Department of Agriculture (ODA), Food Safety Program before you print. Spotted something out of date? Tell us.
